Last Saturday, we hosted a fundraiser for our great friends at BK Farmyards. Pie Lovers Unite! A Fundraiser for BK Farmyards Youth Farm at the High School for Public Service brought together 20 pie enthusiasts to compete for bragging rights for the best sweet and savory pies in the city. The pie masters included Growing Chefs/ Eagle Street Farm, Four & Twenty Blackbirds, and many others. The judges included Matt Timms, cookoff guru, Katy Keiffer of Heritage Radio Network, Anna Broussard of the French Culinary Institute, and Amy Zavotto of Edible magazine.
The judges choice was awarded to Annie Novak and Chris Bondie for their savory swiss chard pie, and the people's choice went to Betty Brooklyn for her savory mini short rib pies. Thanks to everyone for making this a great event!
