Tonight! Miso Oden at Jimmy's No. 43

Our friends who brought you the Hiroshima-Style Okonomiyaki are back. This time they are bringing Miso Oden.

What is Oden?Oden is the authentic Japanese style “pot-au-feu” cooked in soy-flavoured dashi broth. Basic ingredients are daikon radish, konnyaku, boiled eggs, and processed fish cakes. Japanese mustard is often used as a condiment. Paring with Sake, Shochu, and beer, Japanese people enjoy Oden especially during winter.

What is "Miso Oden"? Using special miso called "Hatcho Miso" for the broth, "Miso Oden" is the most unique regional variation of Oden. Hatcho Miso has a lot of UMAMI, unique smoky flavor, and less sweetness comparing with other miso. Although the broth's color is very dark, the flavor is mild.

Enjoy Miso Oden for $10/ plate ($2.00/bowl of rice) and take advantage of Jimmy's great beer list tonight, Monday March 1 from 7:00- 10:00 PM at Jimmy's No. 43.
