March 2 is Sour Beer Night and Jimmy's on the Radio!

It's another busy week at Jimmy's No. 43. No rest for the wicked! So, let's get up to date...

Tonight is Sour Beer Night at Jimmy's No. 43. Sour beer is difficult to make and hard to find. Tonight, connoisseurs can enjoy an informal tasting featuring a selection of sour beers from Jolly Pumpkin, Cantillon, and others from the Shelton Brothers portfolio. Just last Wednesday, Eric Asimov wrote a great article in The New York Times about the best Belgian and Belgian inspired beers. Jolly Pumpkin's Oro de Calabaza was Number 1. There will be lots of Jolly Pumpkin on hand at Jimmy's and Oro de Calabaza will be available tonight, as will other beers that made Asimov's list.

Also making an appearance tonight... Jimmy Carbone will co-host a new beer-centric radio show on the Heritage Radio Network. Beer Sessions makes its premiere tonight at 5:00 PM. Here's the show description:

Every Tuesday, Jimmy Carbone plays host to an audio ale salon alongside a rotating corps of co-hosts including Sam Merritt (founder of Civilization of Beer) and Ray Deter (owner of d.b.a.). Beer loving raconteurs will offer toasts, share craft beer news, and swap anecdotes about their lives on the front lines of the craft beer movement. Beer Sessions is sponsored by The Good Beer Seal, an association of independently owned and operated bars in New York City that serve, promote, and support good craft beer. Feel free to email questions, toasts and your personal beer lore to our hosts at beersessions@gmail.com.

You can tune in to Heritage Radio Network for the live stream at 5:00 or check back to the Beer Sessions page for archived programs. Once archived shows on the HRN site, you will find a link to it right here on this blog.

Happy Tuesday and remember to drink good beer!
