But, you have to get here soon, because Saturday (6/20/09) marks the last day for new Dutch herring and you don't want to miss out.An interesting back story to the Dutch beers: even though there are quite a few countries in northern Europe, they (the Dutch) should be fairly common to us New Yorkers. After all, New York has a rich Dutch history. And yet- how many of you are familiar with Dutch customs like " new herring" ? When I asked my friendly beer salesman for a list of the craft Dutch beers last week, he thrice (yes that's 3 times) gave me a list of Danish beers!
