This Thursday with Karen Rivara!

Directions to Shellfisher Preserve:

From Southold Village east:
Route 25 (Main Road) to Bayview (left after Hart’s hardware at the Gulf gas station), then follow directions
from * below

From New York City :
Take the Long Island Expressway to the last exit. Merge onto Rt. 58 Take 58 past traffic circle to light at
intersection of rt. 105 and 25. Continue straight on route 25. Travel east past village of Cutchogue and hamlet
of Peconic. After Corey Creek Vineyard (on right) make the next right onto South Harbor Road, then make first
left onto Baywater Avenue, past the firehouse, then bear right at the second road onto Bayview and follow the
instructions below.

*Continue on Bayview, pass Cedar, Victoria, and The Cove condominiums, and then make next left onto
Jacobs Lane (note that there is a white gazebo on the triangle of grass at this intersection). Take Jacobs to a
four-way stop sign; turn right onto North Bayview Road. After a minute or so you will see Reydon Drive on left;
Shellfisher Road is the next one on left- look for four identical green plastic mail boxes on left; Shellfisher Road
is shortly after those on curve. It has two brick wall "gateways" facing the street with signs that say "Shellfisher
Road" and "Access by Permission Only."

Drive slowly here- less than 15 mph. You will pass three homes (including the one on corner of N. Bayview and
Shellfisher). Then you will pass through old chain link gates (permanently opened); The underground hatchery
is directly to the left as you drive through the fence. Bear left at rock monument and continue down this road to
reach nursery system at aquaculture dock and greenhouse on Southold bay.
