September 9th will feature an evening of local Peconic Pearl oysters, New York State wines, and local craft beers. We’ll have 800 oysters in stock and will be serving them on the menu throughout the night. $0.25 of each oyster sold will be donated to the Peconic Land Trust.
And in the back room from 7:30 - 10:00 PM, Jimmy’s No. 43 is teaming up with Slow Food NYC, oyster grower Karen Rivara, and the Peconic Land Trust to bring you “Shuck and Talk”, a very special evening of local oysters, beer, and sustainability education.
Karen Rivara is responsible for bringing back the Peconic Pearl oyster to Long Island Sound. She runs the only commercial shellfish hatchery in the Peconic estuary, and will be discussing her role in the preservation of Long Island Sound, and demonstrating how to shuck an oyster!
Tickets are $35 a person and can be purchased at the door, or online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/producer/7784. This ticket price includes one drink, and a plate of oysters. $10 of each ticket sold will be donated to Slow Food NYC.
