New World vs Old World Cheddar
Diana Pittet is traveling the world right now writing about cheese for her lovely blog, Cheddarbound. Last year, she led a guided tasting of new world and old world cheddars in the Tasting Room at Jimmy's No. 43. If I remember correctly, we tasted Cabot Cloth Bound, and 1 other Vermont cheddar as well as 2 English - Montgomery and Mrs. Quick's Borough cheddar.

East 7th Street Eats
A recent New York Times article points out the culinary wonder that is 7th Street in the East Village. My favorite chef, Sarah Jenkins, opened Porchetta, which is mentioned in the article. Let's walk the 7th Street Eats Tour! For me it starts at Jimmy's No. 43 with a fancy hot dog (Flying Pigs Farm chorizo or bratwurst, with ramps, and SchoolHouse Kitchen mustard on a bun) and a Sixpoint Bengali Tiger IPA. It ends a few hours later, back at Jimmy's No. 43, with a Brooklyn Reserve "Intensified Coffee Stout" and some housemade ginger snap cookies.
